Septic Registry

Advertise & claim a listing

Septic Registry reaches people at one specific moment: they have a septic problem, a company name in hand, and a question about whether that company is licensed. Across 9 states that is 10,788 licensed businesses and 726 counties in front of that audience.

What is not for sale, at any price

  • Changing, removing or reordering a listing.
  • Marking a company as verified, preferred, top-rated or recommended.
  • Adding ratings, reviews or claims we cannot source to a government record.
  • Removing or demoting a competitor.
  • Editing what a state record says about anybody.

The registry is worth advertising against precisely because the listings are not for sale. Selling them would destroy the thing being advertised. Everything paid is additive — it adds information the state does not publish, in a box that says who wrote it — and every paid outbound link carries rel="nofollow sponsored".

Programmatic display runs across county, town and company pages. For a direct buy, email hello@thesepticregistry.com.

Questions about paying

Does paying move my listing up?
No, and it never will. Listings are ordered alphabetically from the state record, and that is the whole reason this site is worth appearing on. A county sponsorship sits above the table in a labelled box, outside the listing order — the same treatment a display ad gets.
Do I have to pay to be listed at all?
No. Every licensed business in the state records is already here — all 10,788 of them — and always will be, free. Nothing is behind a payment.
My listing has a mistake in it. Do I have to pay to fix it?
No. Corrections are free and always will be. Tell us what the state record should say and we check it against the source document. If the state record itself is wrong, the state has to fix it — we will tell you which office to call.
How do I cancel?
Through the link on your Stripe receipt, or by emailing us. Your paid details stop appearing at the next rebuild after the subscription ends. The free listing from the state record stays exactly as it was.
How quickly does my upgrade appear?
Within a day. Paid upgrades are pulled from Stripe on a schedule and the site rebuilds itself — there is no queue and nobody approves anything by hand.
