Septic Registry

Septic contractors by Delaware county

Every one of Delaware’s 3 counties and county-equivalents, with the number of licensed septic records that give it as an address. 3 have at least one business; the greyed 0 have none of their own, and their pages point to the neighbouring counties instead.

What the counts do and do not mean

Delaware licenses onsite wastewater work by class, and publishes the whole licensee list as open data. Each class is a separate credential — a company licensed to haul liquid waste is not thereby licensed to install a system.

The number against each county is how many licensed businesses give that county as their address — not how many will travel to it. A Delaware licence is granted by Delaware DNREC and is valid across the state, so a company two counties away can legally do the work. In a rural county the listed handful is rarely the real choice set, which is why every county page here also lists its neighbours.

Every licence in the published dataset carries an approved status; DNREC republishes the dataset as licences change.
