Septic Registry

Septic contractors by Alabama county

Every one of Alabama’s 67 counties and county-equivalents, with the number of licensed septic records that give it as an address. 67 have at least one business; the greyed 0 have none of their own, and their pages point to the neighbouring counties instead.

What the counts do and do not mean

Alabama licenses the individual installer or pumper through the AOWB, and the board records both the county they are based in and every county they are authorised to work in. County health departments permit the system itself.

The number against each county is how many licensed businesses give that county as their address — not how many will travel to it. A Alabama licence is granted by Alabama AOWB and is valid across the state, so a company two counties away can legally do the work. In a rural county the listed handful is rarely the real choice set, which is why every county page here also lists its neighbours.

Licences are issued for a calendar year and renewed annually; every listing shows the date the current licence was issued.

The licence types in this table

  • Pumpersa business licensed for the work that pumps out and hauls away septic tank waste.
  • Licenseesan individual who holds an Alabama onsite wastewater licence personally.
